A variety of resources made for a quick response to the Martha Fire (#344) yesterday, near Soldotna, AK. The fire was reported around 6 PM last night and was more accurately mapped at 1.25 acres this morning. Crews from DFFP and Central Emergency Services, among other resources, were able to extinguish the fire in a few hours.

Today the fire remains in contained status as crews arrived early this morning, the only remaining heat was in one small area. The Clackamas Crew, a Type 2 Initial Attack crew, will join DFFP engines later today to finish mopping up any hot spots to make sure the fire is completely out. The fire is considered a human start and remains under investigation.
