AGGIE CREEK FIRE UPDATE

FINAL UPDATE

Acres: 31,705 Start Date: June 22, 2015
Cause: Lightning

Location: 30 miles NW of Fairbanks, AK
Containment: 55%

Fuels/Topography: Timber, grass/rugged terrain
Total personnel: 316

Yesterday: For the sixth consecutive day, the fire received precipitation. Where safe, crews continued patrol of previously mopped-up fire-line around the fire perimeter.

Today: The fire is expected to continue smoldering internally in the deep duff layers where any dry woody material remains. Pending favorable conditions, crews will continue to patrol the fire-line and backhaul supplies that are no longer needed on the fire.

A type 3 incident management team will assume control of the incident Tuesday July 21, 2015 at 8:00 a.m. This will be the final update unless significant activity occurs on the fire.

Smoke: Minimal.
