Douglas Fire – July 3, 2022

Fire Weather (Warnings/Watches): A Red Flag Warning remains in effect through midnight tonight for lightning for the central interior. Ample lightning could lead to numerous new fire starts.

Winds today will be variable, 5 mph or less. Relative humidity levels will be as low as 31% today. Temperatures are forecast to be 74 to 84 degrees.

Closures: Arctic Circle Campground remains closed due to area firefighting activity. The Arctic Circle Wayside where the sign is location is open.

Public Safety: All public is advised to use extreme caution while driving on the Dalton Highway. Drive with your headlights on and be advised that heavy trucks and firefighting equipment require much longer stopping distances. Heavy smoke along the road is greatly reducing visibility. Road shoulders on the highway are narrow and pulling off on these shoulders for any reason is not advised.
